Community First – Why Our Work Started With Values

At McGrath North Lakes, community involvement isn’t a sideline — it’s part of who we are.

In 2025 we were honoured with both the REIQ ‘Contribution to the Community’ Award and McGrath Queensland ‘Community Impact’ Award. But those accolades are not what drives us. What drives us is a commitment to compassion, safety, support and real‑world action for families doing it tough.

From the beginning, we set out to use our expertise in property to create safe, stable homes for people who might otherwise fall through the cracks. Through initiatives such as:

• SafeHome Alliance — collaborating with like‑minded businesses and organisations to help survivors of domestic and family violence secure safe, private rentals.

• The Priority Project — prioritising private rentals for women and families emerging from crisis accommodation to accelerate their transition into safe, stable homes.

• Sustaining Tenancies — supporting tenants at risk of eviction or homelessness by connecting them with case‑workers who help them stay housed.

• Managing secure, furnished homes for families recovering from domestic violence through a collaboration with DFV charities — enabling them to move straight into safe accommodation and rebuild with dignity and support.

• Annual Christmas Hamper Drive — delivering hampers to tenants facing hardship, loneliness, or loss, offering support and solidarity when it matters most.

These efforts reflect our belief that real estate is more than bricks and mortar — it’s about empathy, community, safety, and helping people rebuild their lives with dignity.

That focus on values — on people first — is what underpins every decision we make. It’s why we don’t just manage properties. We stand alongside people, offer practical help, and strive to build spaces where families can truly feel secure.

We’re proud to have our work recognised with major awards this year. But more importantly, we are proud that our daily efforts reflect what we believe in.

Because at McGrath North Lakes, community isn’t just something we support — it’s who we are.
